Happy Retirement, Loraine!

Metz Camfield

Loraine Himmelhaver retired from First State Bank on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, after working for nearly six years with the bank.

Loraine, who worked in both marketing and community relations at First State Bank, wore many different hats for us. Among her personal favorites was producing “Bank Shares” each quarter; a publication distributed to each of the seven banks within the First Breckinridge Bancshares family of banks.

She also served an integral role in our relationship with the student bank Tiger One sponsored by First State Bank, serving as both a liaison and instructor. In the community, Loraine helped coordinate many of the events we participate in and support each year, including various parades, fairs, and the annual Community Appreciation Day.

“My job with First State Bank was perfect for me,” Loraine said. “ I loved working with our high school student bank, Tiger One. Training students and preparing them for real world situations has always been near and dear to my heart since I also taught high school business courses for 27 years. I also loved that I had a wide variety of job responsibilities during my time at First State Bank, and I was never bored. I would have to say, of my many job responsibilities, that I loved planning and producing our monthly publication, ‘Bank Shares,’ and planning and coordinating our annual Community Appreciation Day event the most! I also worked with a great group of co-workers, and I will miss them all!”

Loraine is looking forward to spending more time with her family, including her 12 grandchildren and their parents. She said she wants to devote more time to studying God’s Word and enjoying all the many blessings He has granted her. She also is looking forward to taking more vacations with her husband!

Thank you again, Loraine, for all you’ve done at First State Bank, and best wishes in retirement!
